These are all the dates for hunting this season. Each one has specific guidelines, such as what the hunt is for, what can be used, and how many of the particular game you can have tags for.

Remember to purchase your tags before heading out. These dates normally stay the same throughout years, but they are subject to change at any time.

  • April 30 to May 1, 2011 is the youth turkey hunting weekend.
  • May 3 to May 31, 2011 is the Spring gobbler season for wild turkey.
  • Black bear hunting starts September 1, 2011 but the dates might vary for the method used and WMU.
  • September 1, 2011 to January 1, 2012 is the waterfowl season, the dates might vary by the species of waterfowl and the zone that the hunter is in.
  • September 24 to 25, 2011 is the youth waterfowl weekend that is just Saturday and Sunday.
  • September 15 to December 15, 2011 is for deer using bows. Only through September 15 to the 30th can archers take legally antlered bucks statewide; archery season normally closes on December 8 in WMU A.
  • September 15 to December 15, 2011 is turkey season for bow hunters.
  • October 10 to October 14, 2011 is the Fall turkey season for shotgun users Monday through Friday and is only open in certain WMUs only.
  • September 1, 2011 to March 1, 2012 is the small game and furbearers season. The days can vary depending on the region and species.
  • October 1 to December 31, 2011 is the pheasant season.
  • October 15 to October 23, 2011 is moose season but only with permit.
  • October 22 to 23, 2011 is youth deer hunting weekend.
  • October 29 to November 8, 2011 is the muzzleloader season for deer.
  • November 9 to December 4, 2011 is regular firearms season for deer. This closes November 27, 2011 in WMU A.
