hunting gear10 years ago, hunting gear for women pretty much did not exist. Getting children’s or men’s clothing was all a girl had to do, but a lot of the time, the clothing and gear did not fit right and make a ruckus when walking through the woods.


hunting appsIf you’re anything like we are here at Northeast Hunting, you find yourself dragging your cell phone out into the woods with you a lot more than you’d probably like (sure, it’s nice to have the added security and ability to get in touch, but sometimes it’s just nice to detach completely, you know?).


There is always a need for great, high quality knives. The need is usually for hunting or protection. In the past knives were made from flint or wood, but as times moved ahead so did the quality of knives.


The opening day of deer season is a large event. As soon as the sun comes up, you will hear the shots going through the woods and behind it a hopeful hunter.

Jump Shooting Duck Hunting

Duck hunting has come a long way. Before calls, decoys, and other things to attract ducks were used, there was the good ol’ days of shooting with instinct and good hunting skills.


Deer in the New England area are usually born late May and into early June. When deer are harvested during the November season, they are normally all at least 6 months of age or older. During the past years that data was collected, it was determined that 21% of the deer were yearlings, while 52% of them were adults that were around 2.5 years of age or older.


As the fall hunting seasons begin to slide into full swing and the promise of even more hunting is on the horizon, we here at Northeast Hunting want to remind everyone that it is extremely important to practice safety in all aspects of our sport.


Ever consider who or what represents the greatest danger to you in the field? Other hunters? Weather? Weapon malfunction? Actually, look no further than the mirror.


Remember the old days when you were stuck with the choke that came with your shotgun? Fixed chokes had hunters filling their cabinets with guns for every purpose.


Let’s face it, the dog days of August don’t seem like the time to be thinking about bird season; days are long and hot, the kids are off so family time is a priority, stripers are running, yard work, vacations, the list goes on…
