If you’ve never heard of Randy Flannery and you consider yourself an avid deer hunter, then you should probably do some research.

Flannery, who is a master Maine guide and a deer hunting legend, is scheduled to make a very rare public appearance come March 27 in Averill Park, New York. He’ll be conducting a seminar on advanced deer hunting strategies, specifically targeting tandem hunting techniques.

When Flannery speaks about deer hunting, it truly is a reason to sit up and take notes. He is a regular columnist with Outdoors Magazine and has long been considered a pioneer in tracking and stalking techniques. He is quite often sought out as an expert in the field, having both been profiled and had his strategies and methods featured several times in other notable magazines like Field & Stream and Deer & Deer Hunting.

The seminar, which is being touted as a must for “real hunters” will be at the Lakeview Restaurant in Averville on March 27. Doors open for the seminar at 11 a.m. with lunch being served shortly after. The seminar is expected to run into the late afternoon with several pertinent topics being covered, such as strategies that have proven successful throughout the Northeast.

The cost of the event is $50 for adults and $25 for youth hunters under the age of 18. Lunch is included in the cost. Tickets are limited.
