These are all the dates for hunting this season. Each one has specific guidelines, such as what the hunt is for, what can be used, and how many of the particular game you can have tags for.

Around sometime last year, the Make A Wish Foundation did away with their hunting trips as one of their ‘Trips of a Lifetime’ for those terminally ill children that wished to go. Since then, a new organization has been formed that allows these terminally ill children to have their hunting trip for their trip of a lifetime.

Learning How to Age Your Deer

Deer in the New England area are usually born late May and into early June. When deer are harvested during the November season, they are normally all at least 6 months of age or older. During the past years that data was collected, it was determined that 21% of the deer were yearlings, while 52% of them were adults that were around 2.5 years of age or older.

Lead in all its forms has become a four-letter word in our society. Of late it has become a tool for environmentalist, animal activist and anti-hunting and fishing groups – a tool with dangerous consequences, in some ways maybe more so than the metal itself. If there ever was an elephant in the room that could affect how we hunt, shoot, and fish from here on out, this is it.

Starting on October 15, the Glastonbury Shooting Range in Connecticut is going to open their doors for even longer for those deer hunters in the area. The hours have been extended for the weekends.

There is a lot of concern out there about not being able to hunt when the recession is calling. This can be a burden for a lot of hunters.

The New Hampshire Unit M Gives Special Deer Permits

Those hunters out there in Wildlife Management Unit M in New Hampshire that want another chance to take one more additional antlerless deer than they already have during this upcoming fall hunting season, can actually go in and purchase a special permit from the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department that allows them to shoot just one more antlerless deer.

This is a big reminder for those deer hunters out there that want to make sure they have their applications in on time!
